Hi, I'm Karen Wedel, the proud owner and operator of TLC for Tots Family Childcare. With over 30 years of experience working with children, I’m deeply passionate about nurturing and guiding young minds.
My journey in childcare began in 6th grade when my older sister had a baby. From that moment on, I knew caring for children was my calling. I started with babysitting through middle and high school, worked in preschools, spent 10 years as a nanny, and eventually opened my own daycare after having my first child.
Running TLC for Tots has truly been the best of both worlds—caring for my own children while providing a loving, safe, and enriching environment for other families. Every day brings new opportunities to learn, explore, and grow together.
I’m certified in First Aid and CPR, and I’ve received formal training in early childhood education. My approach is rooted in encouraging independence, while balancing safety, learning, and play. I strive to create a warm, personalized experience for each child and family in my care.
